Original oil painting on canvas by London artist Ryan Louder — an evocative figurative composition painted in 2018 featuring a luminous standing figure cradling a bundled form against deep cobalt, teal, and midnight blue tones. Tender yet mysterious, the pairing suggests a mother and child bathed in ethereal, self-emanating light against textured, expressive brushwork.
Original oil painting on canvas. One of one, unframed. An open-edition A3 fine art print is also available via the options above.
I paint directly onto the canvas with no preliminary sketch or plan, letting forms surface spontaneously. The glowing, dream-like quality reflects my lived experience with narcolepsy and REM intrusion, clinically diagnosed at Guy's Hospital in London. Dream visuals bleed naturally into waking perception, producing figures that seem to float free of conventional gravity and space.
