Cowboy And Horse is an original oil painting on canvas, 40 x 40 cm, by London artist Ryan Louder, painted in 2023.
Warm cream and sand tones fill the ground, and the cowboy and his horse come up out of it in reddish browns, the whole square held at the same temperature. It reads like a memory of a western rather than a scene from one, flat light, broad shapes, everything reduced to what the eye keeps.
My work is shaped by narcolepsy with REM intrusion, diagnosed at Guy's Hospital in London: dream-like visions appear while I am awake and end up in the paintings.
The canvas is unstretched with an extra 2 cm around the painting for attaching to a back board when framed. It comes rolled with a certificate of authenticity. Tracked courier - questions always welcome.
