Crossing The Road In London by Ryan Louder

Original oil painting on canvas by London artist Ryan Louder — a dynamic 2023 London cityscape capturing a woman crossing the street amidst the energy of urban life, featuring a classic red double-decker bus, rich ochre architecture, and atmospheric London light. Part of his REM intrusion collection.

London moves at a constant pace, and this painting captures the sensation of stepping into the flow. The woman in profile stands resolved in her emerald jacket and auburn hair while the city around her shifts in fluid, expressive gestures. Living with narcolepsy and REM intrusion (diagnosed at Guy's Hospital, London) means visual boundaries often soften and blur in waking hours, turning urban motion into a dreamlike interplay of form and color.
