A very large oil painting on canvas, 185 by 210 centimetres, of three figures feeding ducks after dark.
Near my studio there is a park full of birds, and a bench where three guys are always drinking Super Tennent's and putting the world to rights. To be fair to them I have never seen them actually feed the ducks - but the idea appealed to me, so I painted the version where they do. It came out with the calm, glowing strangeness of a night scene remembered rather than observed.
My work is shaped by narcolepsy with REM intrusion, diagnosed at Guy's Hospital in London: dream-like visions appear while I am awake and end up in the paintings. This one started as a real park and drifted into a dream on its own.
I have painted over 2,000 works and sold more than 1,000 originals. Because of its size this painting ships rolled in a protective tube and can be easily restretched by any framer. Tracked courier - questions always welcome.
