Lifting Spirits is an original oil painting on canvas board, 16 by 20 inches (41 by 51 cm), painted in 2024. Deep blues rising into light — unseen forces lifting from the depths, breaking the surface in one fluid motion.

The radiating strokes suggest movement and ascension: rising from shadow into illumination, emotions flowing freely. The abstract form speaks to uncontainable inner strength, with subtle layers echoing a transcendence that feels both mysterious and familiar. Each mark is alive, swirling into an organic form that grounds and lifts at the same time.

About the artist
I'm a London-based painter. My work is a direct record of REM intrusion — dream imagery that arrives while I'm awake — which is documented in my NHS medical records. The paintings hold that state: layered, vivid, half-waking, the boundary between the dream world and the waking one worn thin.
