The Castle by Ryan Louder

Original seascape oil painting on canvas by London artist Ryan Louder, painted in 2025 — an atmospheric, impressionistic coastal landscape capturing the silhouette of an ancient coastal fortress between open sea and shifting skies. Expressive brushwork and subtle tonal layering create depth, movement, and the quiet resonance of historical coastline.

Original oil painting on unstretched canvas. Available as the original one-of-a-kind artwork (£400, shipped carefully rolled in a sturdy protective tube ready for custom framing) or as an archival museum-grade A3 fine art print (£110).

I work directly onto canvas with no preparatory sketch, allowing the coastline and atmosphere to take form through pure paint application. Diagnosed with narcolepsy and REM intrusion at Guy's Hospital in London, my work often channels waking dreamscapes where light, water, and timeless architecture intersect.
